recovering a lampshade
You will need scissors, washable marker or chalk, and a hot glue gun. The steps are outlined below :

Trace pattern by rolling shade on fabric while using chalk or washable marker. With marker or chalk add 1 " all around pattern then cut.

Lay shade on its side. Fold side of pattern 1/2" and hot glue onto shade. Then glue top and bottom around edges onto shade. I clip the top edge in 3 or 4 places to go around the frame pieces.

Stand back and admire !

Now that the demands of the Holidays have passed it is nice to work on things that have piled up in the work basket. I have mended a coat zipper and now I’m finishing a piece of patchwork :

Breakfast Menu
We are giving a Christmas breakfast here tomorrow, so of course I had to whip out my art supplies and create a menu ! I tried using the only calligraphy pen i could find (from Michael’s Craft store).
