Holiday home crafts

Here is my 1st attempt at a wreath.  I used clippings from my own boxwood shrubs.  My bow is bit mishapen.

used book sale and a Giveaway

I found these at a used book sale yesterday.  One of the books I found was Gnomes by  Rien Poortvliet and Wil Huygen ( 1979 edition).   It has  endless illustrations of gnomes.  If you would like to win this book and you live in the continental U.S. please leave a comment by Dec. 1st 5pm e.s.t.

Decorating the Princess Pine way

I bought these two chocolate brown gingham ruffled panels at the thrift shop today. They are in perfect condition and I am sure some lovely older woman must have had them up in her house for years. I feel much better about that way of buying things.  I’m sure everyone knows what i mean.  (i hot-glued Lara Cameron fabric onto the lampshade) I also bought more fabric for my aprons or maybe some eco-shopping bags .

I knocked this out within about an hour and a half.   My time and supplies allocated toward this project were limited.  I had no idea how to print out large book cover images nor did I know how I was going to put lettering on the board.  Luckily the awesome librarian gave me paper and showed me a tool the teachers have to punch out letters which presses cookie cutter shapes down onto paper.  I am happy with my first attempt at decorating bulletin boards. It was fun.

thinking about sales displays

i made my sales tags this weekend.   i pinned them on and laid them out to see how it will all look at the sale.  displaying a lot of aprons on a table  is not easy, it would be so much better if i could hang them up …
